Systematic Literature Review: Implementasi Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) terhadap Kinerja Industri Manufaktur di Indonesia

This study aims to systematically analyze and synthesize the implementation of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in improving manufacturing industry performance in Indonesia, as well as to identify dominant loss patterns (Six Big Losses) and evaluate the effectiveness of improvement strategies based on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). The research employs a systematic literature review (SLR) approach with a mixed-methods design, selecting relevant studies from major academic databases published between 2014 and 2025 using strict inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings reveal that most manufacturing industries in Indonesia still operate below the world-class OEE standard of 85%, with values ranging from 48% to 83%. The dominant losses affecting OEE performance are reduced speed losses and equipment failure, which significantly impact productivity and operational efficiency. The implementation of TPM has been proven effective in improving OEE, with an average increase ranging from 11% to 25%, particularly through preventive maintenance, autonomous maintenance, and operator training. The novelty of this study lies in its multidimensional cross-sector synthesis, integration of OEE analysis with modern frameworks such as FMEA and Industry 4.0 digitalization, and the development of an evidence-based comparative conceptual framework applicable to both large enterprises and small–medium manufacturing industries. These findings provide strategic insights for enhancing industrial efficiency and strengthening national competitiveness in the global manufacturing landscape.
